After an eventful 1975 Nick Lavrentiadis was elected President and Bob Skinner continued as Coach of the A team. John Cori and Tony Retsas were appointed as joint B grade Coaches. It was also decided not to field a C team after last year’s debacle against Henley High Old Scholars.
After last years success in making the finals, this year was not as successful with the A’s just missing the finals and finishing 5th.
1976 was also the year the Club’s Constitution was officially drawn up after 16 years by Gary Palasis, Tony Condous and John Kiosoglous. A special meeting of members was held to pass each clause.
Con Papaconstintinou won the A Grade Best and Fairest and Emanuel Lavrentiadis won the B Best and Fairest.
1976 was to be Bob Skinners’ last year at the Club.
1976 also saw the Greek Football Club players register a team in the Electric Light Cricket Association which was played at the South Parklands on Peacock Road in the city. After 7 rounds the team was sitting equal top with 6 wins. (No further records were kept of the following games).
1976 also saw the formation of the Greek Football Club Past Players Association which was instigated by George Christopoulos, Nick Lavrentiadis and Tom Frossinakis.
Rebuilding of new Clubrooms was put on hold after disputations with the West Torrens Council over the construction of the Clubrooms and it was decided to hold back until a mutual agreement between the two parties could be reached.
